"The planet of the apes" actress arrested in Los Angeles

"The planet of the apes" actress and former model Estella Warren was arrested after an accident end of evening that led to his allegedly assaulting a police officer before trying to escape from custody, officials said Tuesday.

Warren was driving Harper Avenue near West Hollywood, when she crashed into three parked cars, Los Angeles police officer Sarah Faden said.

Police took Warren at Wilshire station, where she was held in a waiting room. Exactly how she managed it was not clear, but Faden said that Warren has slipped on his handcuffs and then burst through a door to the police station and briefly escaped. She was immediately resumed and reserved for a charge of felony escape.

Warren stood at a $100,000 bail.

Actress Phyllis Avery, dead at 88

LOS ANGELES- Phyllis Avery, who played the wife of Ray Milland in 75 episodes of comedy CBS 1953-55, "Meet Mr. McNulty", died May 19 of heart failure at his home in Los Angeles. She was 88.
