Actress Phyllis Avery, dead at 88

LOS ANGELES- Phyllis Avery, who played the wife of Ray Milland in 75 episodes of comedy CBS 1953-55, "Meet Mr. McNulty", died May 19 of heart failure at his home in Los Angeles. She was 88.


In "mcnulty" (later called "the Ray milland Show"), Milland played a professor in a college for girls, with Avery as his wife, Peggy.


His career of 50 years, the small blonde co-starred in 1960-62 TV drama "The Horizon" clear and on these shows: "" Peter Gunn,""Have Gun — will travel, "" the Rifleman,"" The Millionaire have"", "rawhide" and "Perry Mason."


In mid-Gogo, Avery was a career selling real estate in West Los Angeles but continues to television with stays on "All in the Family," "Maude," "Charlie's Angels" and "baretta." Later, she has appeared on the series of the 1990s "Coach" and in the 1993 film "Made in America.".


Born in New York from screenwriter Stephen Morehouse Avery (1948 "Every Girl should be married," starring Cary Grant) and Martine Evelyn Avery made his debut on Broadway in the production of 1937 "Orchids preferred." After graduating from the American Academy of dramatic Arts, she played one of the ingenuous features in the 1940s, stage struck "Charley's aunt" with Jose Ferrer.
