Fox suppressants 'wanted', but John Walsh is not performed

You did not have to look at "America of the Most Wanted" to be grateful, that is. For 23 years, he resided on Fox, rally his audience in one quarter of crime throughout the country enjoyed by everyone.

The number of viewers was not insignificant: 5 million viewers, on average, this season.

But other figures are most impressive. As provenance and-counting worldwide capture he claimed, a public benefit for which the show and the community that he raised, could take the proud credit.

No wonder if the public was rocked by news Monday that Fox has cancelled "amw."

Too expensive, Fox entertainment Kevin Reilly explained in making the announcement. Instead of "amw," Fox will be released weekly rehearsals of his series of prime-time entertainment. He said there was only four, two-hour specials "AMW" next season.

John Walsh had already obtained the new bad Sunday.

Walsh, of course, is the host of "amw" and its driving force, a man who led a crusade to debunk the topic of kidnapping crime and the murder of her son, 6 years old Adam in 1981.

"I was quite surprised", he said by telephone Monday afternoon of behind the scenes to the presentation of the Fox for advertisers in Manhattan. He said that he told Reilly. "We made hard for you and we had a good year." "We took guys more than we have ever taken."

But this was not the metric which was important to the network.

Set aside for a moment that provided good public "AMW". He was also a remarkable institution of TV. Established in April 1988 the network nascent Fox during a season where another freshman Fox shows included those rates long-forgotten as "The new adventures of beans Baxter" and "Second Chance."

In this undated publicity photo released by Fox, Simon Cowell, "the X factor," is displayed. In his announcement of the calendar new season Monday, May 16, 2011, Fox, said that it will introduce eight series again next year. They include the Simon Cowell "the X factor" talent show, which has been given time slices in the fall of "american idol"-like.

It was announced as "a weekly nationwide criminal manhunt." Walsh, a former hotel executive with no experience of TV, has been the host, with a simple message for the law-abiding public of the Act that he was seeking to help flush out the bad guys: we or their.

"amw" caught on, where most of the lineup of Fox has failed. (In July 1989, he became the first Fox program ranked first in its time slot.)

He has since a fixture on the network and, since 1994, planted at 9 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. Oh, except for a few months in 1996 after Fox cancelled it the first time.

"The audience went bananas," said Walsh. It has been Government officials and the police, who considered the show as a valuable resource - the application of the Act. The network quickly reconsidered, and "amw" on board with his work.

"This is a show that would say that this is always," said Brad Adgate, firm Horizon media analyst. And innovative: "he operated the wisdom of the crowds long before social media.".

"amw" had a something for her. Did any how aggressively the show led a fight to drain the swamps of the nation of depravity, no there was no danger it would never dry. "amw" content guaranteed to continue indefinitely.

Anyone else that Walsh could have received the news that "amw" was cut with relief. After a quarter of a century in the side dark of humanity while keeping a calendar punish it reasonably could welcome a respite now, at the age of 65 years.

But it is not about to slow down.

"We get better at it," he said of the collective effort he and his show display. "I have better, more intelligent, more severe."

Walsh said there are a few episodes more to do to the network.

During this time, he will speak on television twentieth, studio of the network arm, possible new points of sale for the show.

"I think that this show could go in syndication big-time," he said. "And I'll do these specials, because I love the network". Who else would give the father of a child murdered a chance to host a revolutionary reality show? ?

Then, he had to get off the phone. It has been necessary on stage during the presentation.

"Television is a business and I understand that," Walsh said farewell. "But you never know: we are back at once, as strong as ever.". ... I am not ready to throw the towel. ?
