"Body snatchers" star Dana Wynter dies at 79

LOS ANGELES - Dana Wynter, connecting the Pod People in 1956 science fiction classic "Invasion of the profane", died in Southern California. She was 79.

His son, Mark Bautzer, told the Los Angeles Times as the actress died Thursday in Ojai of heart failure.

Wynter, who played in a number of television dramas, in the 1960s was best known for his role in the paranoid film of the Director Don Siegel on urban replaced from impassive duplicates of pod-like plants Becky Driscoll.

Born in Germany, Wynter grew up in England and studied for a doctor before taking action.

She appeared with Robert Lansing in the series "the Man who never was" and played in "Wagon Train", "Gun" and "The Rockford files."
