Chuck: Mom Bartowski is captured to the next target?

On the side of bride or groom? If you are big Chuck marriage, perhaps the safest answer is "no".

Any spy knows that their loved ones could be used against them, and on the Monday episode "Chuck vs. the last details" (8/7 c, NBC), Chuck (Zachary Levi) learns that new nemesis Vivian Volkoff (Lauren Cohan) captured his mother, Mary Bartowski (Linda Hamilton) while she was on a mission.

"We are five days away from marriage, and Chuck and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) thought that they had the week off," co-creator Chris Fedak told TVGuide.com. "They have thought of that, you know, they could stay in the apartment, lay on the bed and drink mimosas." Instead, they must go out on a mission more to save MOM Bartowski. ?

No mission on Chuck, however, would be complete without a few personal Bartowski angst. "It is also a test for Chuck because that rarely has he must deal with a disagreement between his mother and his fiancee," said Fedak. "In this episode, it is a central element of it." Not only it is Chuck tries to save his mom, but also try to navigate the waters of the mother-in-law/fiancé relationship. Step fun for them, but funny to us. ?

The fiancés will not only dealing with stubborn Mom Bartowski, though. Vivian will also have his hands full with her. "Marie is terrible hostage," explains Fedak. "It is an absolute, terrible hostage."

Vivian came far from grad preferred but sheltered Oxford who has recently discovered that his father, Alexei Volkoff (Timothy Dalton), was not a light oil executive maniéré but a well-known international arms dealer. In some respects, Fedak recognizes as Vivian turn towards the dark side reflects the moral journey of Star Wars hero Luke Skywalker.
