A list of guests that surpasses even the Royal Wedding

Mark Morris Gluck "orfeo ed euridice" vision has a still more brilliant than the Royal Wedding guest list.

There were Gandhi looks at the great Lovers. And Abraham Lincoln. Albert Einstein, too.

Need some royalties? Queen Elizabeth was on - the Queen Elizabeth I.

Fantasy and sometimes distracted, production of Morris returned to the Metropolitan Opera on Friday evening, nearly three years after it first opened. The action takes place in front of an amphitheatre of three levels, with different centuries witnesses wearing costumes Isaac Mizrahi, look likely to emphasize the continuity of history. Sometimes, the attention of the audience walk in trying to identify dozens of characters in the chorus - the Met even held a competition when the production was again.

Open Opera of Gluck in 1762, was modern for its time with its interplay of music and dance. He wound up advancing the art of Handel form somewhat static works and opened the path of Mozart.

Performed without an intermission in 90 minutes brisk, depicts Gluck the myth of the descent to the underworld Orpheus and the extraction of his dead wife. Their love is so strong that Amore revives twice Euridice.

Soprano Kate Royal sings powerfully and emotionally as Euridice in a winner makes debut, posting a higher register strong. It has obtained robust applause for "Che fiero momento (what a proud moment).".

Countertenor David Daniels is once more the star of the show, repeating his performance as Orfeo. The part was sung by the Castrato Gaetano Guadagni in his first and can also be sung by a mezzo-soprano - Stephanie Blythe he performed at the Met two years ago. Streamlined down and research radiant with sparkles on her clothes and a guitar hanging from his back, Daniels ordered to the scene, transmitting his pain at being not allowed to look at Euridice. Her liquid voice dazzled in "che faro senza euridice?" "(What I will do without Euridice?)"

Lisette Oropesa takes the Amore, the character of Cupid who appears to be rather preppy in a pink polo shirt and beige pants. The soprano provided energy and charm in his brief scenes.

Australian conductor Anthony Walker debuted met, leading a propulsive performance except one who was less frothy version of James Levine, the staging was again.

Circular whole Allen Moyer was simple but effective. The 22 dancers choreographed by Morris are captivating. In the most memorable image of the evening, Morris came on the scene for curtain calls in a red jacket, pink sash, grey and white short and Red socks. You don't see that at the Opera very often.

There are more than four concerts through May 14.
