LOS ANGELES - Sean "diddy" Combs will receive founders Award from ASCAP in 24th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards performing rights organization. The invitation only ceremony will be held June 24 at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
Songwriters and publishers of the songs ASCAP more played on maps from R & B/hip hop, rap and Gospel of 2010 will be also honoured.
Combs joined the award winners of previous founders such as Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney. "To be recognized for my contribution to the music by ASCAP are a real honour, Combs said in a statement." All I wanted to make was that people dance and hopefully inspire other people to never resolve anything other than their best. ?
Throughout his career, Combs has worn several hats. A former D & R Executive Uptown Records who has worked with Heavy D and Mary j. Blige, he established Bad Boy Entertainment after leaving Uptown in 1993.
Obtaining early success with artists Craig Mack and Notorious B.I.G., Bad Boy has later been touted as Faith Evans and 112. Solo, Combs has recorded a string of hits - "I'll Be missing you," "I need a girl" and "Coming Home" - released six studio albums. His most recent is the Diddy-Dirty Money album "last Train to Paris".
As a producer (Mariah Carey, TLC, Boyz II Men), combs is a fashion designer, actor and businessman. "Its success", emphasized ASCAP President Paul Williams in a statement, "is a testament to its entrepreneurial spirit, hard work and ability to smart to add his personal touch to contemporary culture."
