The Executive Director of the society of development of the District of Glenville, Tracey Kirksey, tells the newspaper The Plain Dealer marker intact was left outside a fire station and found by the police on Monday morning.
The marker honors the creators of Superman Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. A saw was used to eliminate the aluminum plate to the top of a Pole last month.
Thieves Kirksey of suspects believed bronze and planned to sell as scrap metal. She said that it will be stored until it can be reassembled.
The city installed the plate, eight years on the 65th anniversary of the release of "Action Comics" No. 1 1938, in which Superman made his debut.
