Bonham Carter star in "Great Expectations"

CANNES, France - Helena Bonham Carter will star in a new adaptation of Charles Dickens 'Great Expectations"by Director Mike Newell.

The BBC films announced the film at the Cannes Film Festival Monday in a slate of upcoming productions.

Among other adaptations of literature for children "Peter Pan in Scarlet" and "Swallows and Amazons."

The theatre director, Rufus Norris will make its debut at the cinema with "broken", take a modern on the themes of "To Kill a Mockingbird" adapted from the novel by Daniel Clay typical.

Director of "Man on Wire" James Marsh is set to "Shadow Dancer," a thriller on Irish Republicanism starring Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson.

"Education" Director Lone Scherfig will be "Music and Silence," according the novel by Rose Tremain set at the Danish Court of the 17th century.
